Hi, I’m Anna and I live in a very long house on top of a foggy mountain. Shiny Happy Art is my gallery and shop.
I live with my two biggish boys, two little girls, a husband, dog, cat, chooks and fish (how does that happen?) – I’ve got a head full of plans and a house full of people.
Happy colours are my ‘thing’, and I love the work of Ken Done and Matisse, and that finishing coat of shiny gloss varnish on a canvas is my favourite part of the art process.
My paintings and drawings can be found on lounge room walls, in children’s rooms, and also in corporate offices throughout Australia and overseas.
I have also recently completed five children’s murals in the Toowoomba Hospital, and two detailed murals in the mammography rooms of the Breast Screen unit.
My medium of choice is amazing GOLDEN acrylic paints, which I also sell here on this site.
When not chained to the kitchen, I snatch moments in temporary studios around the house, dreaming of the day when I can once again make a mess on big canvases in my real studio on the highway, north of Toowoomba. I am also an expert at buying books about a huge range of art and craft, especially sewing and screenprinting.
Unfortunately for my waistline, I love baking, eating, sewing, watching Arrested Development and seeing friends. Though Shiny Happy Art is still small and will have to be that way for a while, one day it will be a thriving business, employing a few locals and making more quality items for an appreciative market.
Thanks for stopping by - I hope you find just what you’re looking for.
